Title:                           Custodian

 

Qualifications:           1.         High School Diploma or GED Certificate.

 

                                    2.         Good physical health, moral character, and appearance.

 

                                    3.         Ability to work with others and follow directions.

 

                                    4.         Demonstrate a pleasant personality and a friendly attitude

                                                with others. 

 

Reports To:                Principal, Maintenance Supervisor

 

Job Objective:           To keep the school building and grounds clean, attractive, safe, and in

                                    a condition to augment the educational program.

 

Performance

Responsibilities:       1.         Clean all toilet fixtures each school day.

 

                                    2.         Keep sidewalks safe by removing snow and ice or application of                                                 melting agent.

 

                                    3.         Maintain an economical use of electricity, gas, and water. 

                                                Attempt to correct any condition or practice which appears to

                                                be wasteful.

 

                                    4.         Report any damages to building or equipment to the principal

                                                as soon as discovered.

 

                                    5.         Make minor repairs to the building and equipment.

 

                                    6.         Check the heating/cooling system each morning.  Report                                                 immediately to the principal or maintenance supervisor any

                                                condition needing correction.

 

                                    7.         Follow daily, weekly, monthly, semester, and yearly schedules.

 

                                    8.         Perform other related work and responsibilities as required

                                                by the principal.

 

                                    9.         Follow the chain of command when voicing complaints, and or

                                                making suggestions for improvement.
