Title: Bus Driver Monitor
Qualifications: 1. If student, must be sixteen years of age or older.
2. If not student, must have high school diploma or GED.
3. Must complete prescribed Driver Assistant Training Program
provided by the school district.
4. Must possess positive personal skills in working with pre-school or
special needs children.
5. Knowledge of first aid as it relates to immediate and emergency care.
Supervises: One or more pre-school or special needs children while riding the school bus.
Job Objective: To provide a safe and secure environment for assigned children while those children are being transported on the school bus.
Performance
Responsibilities: 1. Assist in the transportation of children.
2. Supervise assigned children’s entrance, egress, and safe evacuation
of the school bus.
3. Assure the safe seating of the children on the bus.
4. To safely receive and deliver the children from/to the parent, guardian
or person authorized by the parent.
5. Assure that children are not left unattended at the time of delivery.
6. If the parent, or a person authorized by the parent to accept the child
is not present upon delivery, assure that the child is taken to a
prearranged location.
